quick audio question regarding xbox 360 headsets and a laptop?
Im thinking of getting a “Turtle Beach Ear Force X41 Wireless Surround sound Headset” but I like to listen to podcasts while gaming, is there a way to play both the laptops podcast audio and the 360 game audio through the same headset? or can I use the headset with the laptop when I want podcasts and then swap it to the 360 for gaming without podcasts?
Yes, but you must use the red/white analog inputs on the X41 transmitter since you’ll need a splitter cable. Your best bet is to get the X31 audio cable because it has the “piggyback” style red/whites:

Connect the above splitter cable from your laptop’s headphone output to the X41 transmitter–then connect the Xbox red/whites into the rear of the piggybacks. This will give you audio from the laptop and the Xbox at the same time. Just control the audio level of your podcast from your laptop and you’re done!
The only downfall of this is that you will not get Dolby Digital surround sound. Instead, you’ll get Dolby Pro Logic IIx surround sound. Pro Logic is still excellent, so you may not notice the difference at all.
Also note that with the X41 transmitter, you must disconnect the digital optical cable in order to activate the red/white inputs. You can’t use both at the same time.
