New XBOX 360 power brick to work on an old model?
I bought a cheap Xbox360 today that came with no cables, (its a model without the HDMI) so i went to see if it would work with my friends new xbox360 cables he got for christmas but the power cable didnt fit because of a plastic pin, Does anyone know if it would work if i broke off the pin in the way?

You cannot use it..
The first Xbox 360 power bricks were 204w.. the later ones which came with the Falcon boards (starting in 2007) were 175w and the very newest ones (Jasper) are 150w..
You can use the 204w power supply with any Xbox 360.. the 175w will only work with Falcon and Jasper consoles and the 150w will only work with a Jasper console.. the pegs are in place to prevent you from using an incompatible newer power supply with an older console..
The problem is that as the consoles were improved they needed less electricity so they shipped them with weaker power supplies.. if you use an old Xbox 360 which needs a lot of power with one of the weaker power supplies you will definitely have problems..
Your best bet would be to buy a 203w power supply off of eBay.. (link below) it looks like you can get them for under $20 if you scroll down a bit….
