Is there a way to hook up internet from a phone jack in the hallway?
They have internet in the house we moved into…
We have a computer, xbox 360… & plus, a corded basic phone so we can take house calls from our own room, too. BUT we need to know how we could hook up internet.
We can’t buy a long Ethernet cable… because that’s just anal to go thru this big house with a cord over 100 ft.long from one bedroom with a computer to the other bedroom with a computer. It’s just would be stupid.
I figure there has to be a way to get a cord from the phone jack in the hallway… to our room… through something for the internet. [cable internet by the way-roadrunner] Then running on to the computer, phone and xbox 360.
It’s a stretch, and It’s stressful but it’s worth putting it out there to see if anyone has advice or can help.
Roadrunner is a cable Internet which means that you either have to have the cable running to your room or hook up a wireless router if your computer and XBox 360 have WiFi connections or you can use Ethernet over Power Line adapters which allows you to have a connection from one power outlet to another across the house.
