How To Get Bonuses With Wow’s Jewelcrafting Profession

The fine art of jewelcraft in World of Warcraft started with the release of the Burning Crusade expansion. As the word  jewelcrating suggests, you’ll be able to make rings, trinkets, necklaces and even gems for your socketed items. If you have not purchased the expansion, you can still USE the jewelcrafted items, but you cannot learn the profession unless you have the Burning Crusade.

In the Alliance, the jewelcrafting profession is located in Exodar, in Sivermoon with the Horde.  You’ll need a recipe to get started; recipes are available for purchase with Dalaran Jewlcrafter’s Tokens.

With Jewelcrafting, you go out prospecting to find minerals, and then cut the minerals using tools found in the Jewelers Kit. You’ll be cutting gems from mineral ores like copper, iron, mithril etc., and to make some of the higher end jewelry items, you’ll need the grinder tool.

You’ll notice that the gems are color coded by red, blue or yellow. If you’re filling y [removed][removed] our sockets, the color of the gem will match the appropriate socket. Place a colored gem in the socket; a bonus is activated when all sockets have gems in them. Note: You can’t socket the gems to every piece of armor or weapon. You’ll find certain items in the Outland and Northrend that have places for gem sockets.

Even though you’ll be able to make some cool stuff, there are a few designs you can learn only after achieving a certain level with a particular faction. So, if you’re on a mission to make something special, use the jewelcrafting faction recipes to help you design and craft things.

There are a variety of Professions, here they are – from basic to Grand Master:

Apprentice jewelcrafting designs (most basic)

Journeyman jewelcrafting designs

Expert jewelcrafting designs

Artisan jewelcrafting designs

Master jewelcrafting designs

Grand Master jewlcrafting designs, which are taught in the Northrend by special trainers.

The WOW Jewelcrafting profession should be fun and interesting.  It will definitely challenge your creative abilities.

Yep, definitely the Enamelled Disc of Mojo. You could throw in a http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32195 instead of a yellow gem, depending on which stat you want to beef up. MP5 is always useful though, so maybe a http://www.wowhead.com/?item=30603 or http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32216.

Have fun! =D
