what is better for 1080p on xbox 360, HDMI or Component? and do i need just an hdmi cable for the small port?
I need a new hd cable for my Xbox 360. I have a 1080p plasma flat screen tv. should i get an HDMI cable? or a component cable? AND i have one more question. ok everyone that has an xbox 360 knows that there is a large av port on the top, and a small hdmi port on the bottom. my question is, do i just need an HDMI cable (the small port on the bottom) for HD video AND HD audio? or do i also need some kind of AV cable (the big port on the top)? Thanks in advance………………………….
The Xbox 360 can output full 1080p over component.. the prob is some TVs (Sony and some others) will not accept 1080p over component.. so check your TV.. HDMI is easier with the single cable.. the video should be the same but I usually prefer HDMI cables myself..
Ok.. so if you are planning to have your TV speakers play the sound you will be ok with just the HDMI cable.. if you want to use a 5.1 surround sound system or other audio equipment you will want to buy the official Xbox 360 HDMI cable which includes a standard HDMI cable plus an audio cable which plugs into that AV port you asked about.. the audio cable has both RED/WHITE and fiber optic audio outputs.
