The Phenomenon of Online Arcades in School
For a certain group of people online gaming is something they like whereas the same activity is criticized bitterly by another group of people. There have been many complaints regarding the addictive nature of online games that have caused much damage.
There have been many who have lost money in online games when money is involved and others who have quite simply resorted to degrees of procrastination in their need to play online games because they have sidelined all other activities.
There’s many disturbing statistics, especially amongst children and young adults who have given up on all else because of their gaming urge and in extreme cases there’s been instances of excessive depression and related troubles’. This has made many people sceptical regarding online gaming.
As such, there’s major concern when it comes to kids playing online arcades in school. This is because people are obviously concerned about children’s safety. However, people certainly need a lot more education regarding online arcade games. First and foremost, online arcade games do not have an addictive quality like strategy games that can keep you glued to the game for hours and even days.
However, online arcade games are shorter and can even be educational. When you are faced with an issue kids playing online arcades in school, it’s important you first check what genre of games the kids are engaged in. there’s ample quizzes and reasoning games in the online arcade category and these can in fact be beneficial for a child’s developments.
Of course, kids have access to online arcade games at school because of internet connectivity which is an indispensable part of the curriculum. In fact, there’s a chance that kids are not monitored and they could be playing arcade games when they should be studying. If this is true, then it certainly is a cause of worry because even though the kids are playing beneficial game it’s not encouraged at the cost of education.
One effective way to keep an eye on kids playing online arcades in school is to ensure that they are not allowed to access websites apart from what’s part of their education. Apart from this, schools need to be able to check browsing history to know if attempts are made to check prohibited sites.
Of course kids playing online arcades in school are not entirely an alien site because there are times they are allowed to play such games as part of the learning process. A good idea is to make sure that you know what your kid is up to at school. Kids playing online arcades in school can be an occurrence and that shouldn’t freak you out. As children, they will do things that may not be good for them.
All that’s required is a little compassion and patience to help the young ones identify what’s accepted and what’s not. Once they know that playing games at school is not correct, they will stop. Furthermore such lapses don’t really occur on part of a schools management and such an occurrence could be a one off incident that could be sidelined.
